Here are our favourite things to do in the local area while staying with us!

1. Green Aspirations

Located next to the pod site and also on the Estate is Green Aspirations Scotland. It was established as a Community Interest Company in 2013. They are a social enterprise aiming to provide benefit to the community rather than to make a profit.  They work with different groups of people – community groups, young adults, school pupils, kids and crafters – to develop traditional skills, create an appreciation of the woodlands, and encourage sustainable and healthy environments. They run amazing family days where you can try your hand at Axe throwing, shelter building and enjoy a BBQ lunch. They also provide the charcoal for the BBQ packs for Cardross.

3. Bike Hire: Aberfoyle Bike Hire

Cardross is surrounded by many miles of traffic free trails which pass through the heart of the Trossachs. Our bike renting partners will have bikes ready at your pod for your arrival

Here are four of the most notable routes from Aberfoyle:

  • Aberfoyle to Kinlochard. A beautiful ride along the waymarked forest road on the south side of Loch Ard, ending at the Wee Blether Tearoom. Hilly forest road (approx. 1.5 hours/7miles)
  • Aberfoyle to Buchlyvie/Drymen. Following the railway route along the river, this route divides after two miles to offer the choice of a flat ride to Buchlyvie (7 miles) or a hillier single track road to Drymen (13 miles)
  • Duke’s Pass. A famous climb, straight from the main street in Aberfoyle. Challenging but with wonderful views and, once over the top, there are options to continue to Callander or Loch Katrine
